Citizens of oppo. A recent post brought to my attention that there is a currently unknown number of C5's on this board.
As such, this is now a C5 roll call/census
So if you have a c5 vette (or a Citroen, i suppose) post it up!
I’ll start with mine:
Tucked in the garage, hopefully they don’t salt the roads this week

My dad bought himself one for his 70th. It’s a blast to drive.

I’ve got an M3, I’m told that’s not the same thing as a C5.

2004 Z06. I use it for a track car, my dad also drives it around. It lives at my parents house since they have more garage spots.

Picked it up in April and been smiling ever since! It’s an 02 Z06. Track car, daily, cruiser, even took it camping.

Nice Z! Still debating on removing the door molding, it has kinda grown on me...

My first venture into Vette land. I’m waiting for mine to arrive tomorrow from transport...
This was the last picture I took of the car:
I’ll make an official post sometime soon.

Does this count?

V8, two doors, four wheels...

*four doors.
My fun car is a four door, my DD is a two door because reasons.

Wow, a non Z06 hardtop. You don’t see those often.
I do not have a C5. I have a RallyMetro, because lack of moneys.

What year is your FRC?

They are getting really cheap, especially base model coupes/convertibles. If you don’t need a manual, even cheaper.

I have a C4 and an M5 so you could say I have a C4M5 which is simply a C5 for short.
Am I doing this right?

I know they are, but I’m a middle school shop teacher with two little kids. My absolute max budget would get me a clapped-out C4.
Someday!

Mine came like that. The only things I’ve done is tinted the windows, tires, brake fluid, brake pads and rotors.

99, got right around 110k on it, just picked it up in september with 107k
(and promptly put twice as many miles on it than the PO had in three years...)

What tires did you go with?

it’s not rules, so much as guidelines...
anything goes around here

That’s awesome! Pretty similar to mine, I picked it up from an older gentleman with 109k, it now sits at around 113. Hope to put a bunch more on it next year.

Sweet car btw. I’ve always shied away from red cars as I don’t care for extra attention from the police? You ever suspect the color might be a real thing or am I worried about an old wives take.
C4 for your time:

dammit, I know better than to mix up E90 and E92
![]() 11/19/2017 at 21:42 |

I mean, I’ve got both. It would be logical to assume my M3 is a two door, but for some reason I wanted a four door. Ironically, every other car I’ve owned as been a two door. My Explorer, 128i, and 328i all had two doors.

C4 is probably my favorite generation (but the c5 is just better...)
I didn’t have any cop trouble driving home from texas (even with the expired inspection) otherwise I’ve only put 3k miles on it (in 6 weeks lol) I had a black mustang that only got pulled over once in five years too
what is definitely true is driving recently out of service cop cars makes you invincible. true story

knowing all the numbers is a point of pride for me lol, although they didn’t used to do that different chassis codes for coupe vs. sedan thing
![]() 11/19/2017 at 21:50 |
|
That would be correct. I think the bangle cars were the first to use differnt chassis codes for things like that. I think the 7 series was the first; they used E65 for the regular wheel base and E66 for the LWB cars.

I liked them, but they only lasted one summer. Also, they peaked quickly for like one weekend, and then fell off for the rest of the season.

Today I’m leaning towards a C5Z again, and as always I have a bunch of plans for it in my head already again. But... here’s my C5 powered machine.
Also has C5 brake pads on it.
